Rapid Prototyping, using Matlab Simulink and dSpace addon for the dSpace Autobox.
The SbW test device would emulate a mechanic steering column, to be able to use an electronic steer-by-wire steering wheel with as close to true haptic abilities as possible.
The test device was to be sent to Glasgow University

Two consecutive summer periods during the master program for mechanical engineering, i.e. both summer vacations year 2000 and year 2001
Worked at the factory with assembly of electromagnetic elements of high-voltage products.
The level of complexity was on the lower side, so I tried to increase cognitive load by maximizing production in both quantity and quality. My employers seemed to like it.
The first period, summer of year 2000, made an impression and I was invited to work again the next year.
Field machine operator and maintenance technician

Working with mostly heavy duty field operations, using mostly a D8 Caterpillar machine (crawler machine with common sticks and pedals steering) and middle range tractors, various harvests, including cotton harvesting (John Deere 2-row cotton harvester). Spraying pesticides with a special sprayer machine (“Dagan”).
Many hours, many night shifts.

Working with heavy machinery for field conditioning, such as plowing, cultivator, etc. mostly at night, using a CAT Challenger (a tractor with non-metallic crawler system and a steering wheel)

Kibbutz Yagur Field Crops, Israel
Working with field crops, machinery of various purposes, irrigation systems, plowing and heavy field works with middle range to heavy tractors, as well as harvesting of cotton and other crops. I got my share of using harvesters and special equipment as well.
Worked with a spraying machine ("Dagan"), spraying pesticides and fertilizers, often very long days starting at night (favorable wind conditions, no sun) and finishing when weather conditions are no longer suitable.
Worked with irrigation and irrigation-tecnical tasks, repairing and maintenance.
During school time, until finishing school in 1989, I worked 1-2 days/week(1986-1989) and during the summer season, sometimes after school and off-school, then during army service vacations (1990-1993).
This gave me a deep understanding of operating many different machines and tractors, as well as their during and off-season maintenance. Ultimately, it made me look for a higher technical proficiency. But it also gave me the chance of being the user, both as operator and service technician.
Understand both the joy and challenges of usability and the design of man-machine interaction.
Army Service
Combat Soldier
February 1990 – February 1993
Israeli Defence Forces, Israel
Joined the Marine Commando (Fleet 13), and after 10 months, basic and advanced infanty training, and some basic marine combat training, I was discarded and had to leave and heal my legs. Then I joined the anti-tank unit in the Golani division, Orev Golani (“orev” = Hebrew word for crow), mostly in Golan heights in Northern Israel and in Libanon, with occasional training in the Negev desert. We held training periods (Golan Heights and the Negev) and maintained the Israeli governance of the troubled South-Lebanon region.
Beyond simple to more advanced infantry tasks (with assistance of terrain vehicles), we were specialized anti-tank missile operators, operating from terrain vehicles or by foot.
Army service made me more robust, disciplined, and appreciative of the little joys of life, and I could polish my terrain driving some more, with those jeeps and terrain vehicles.
